Wedding style: who wore what

A wedding is a special day for everyone, a chance to dress up and feel glamorous whilst celebrating love, and who doesn’t love love. In this post we will take you through a Ruby Shoo inspired wedding party, with top picks and styling tips for all members attending.

The Bride –
The star of the show, a day where it’s guaranteed that all eyes will be on you, so it’s important that you feel great as well as look it. My top pick wedding dress is by British bridal brand Heartfelt Vintage. “Our business is built on the principles of sustainability, reusing and recycling and keeping it local.” I love everything this brand is about, taking the environment into consideration, beautiful pieces and British just like us! This is the ‘1980’s lace vintage wedding dress’ which I think is perfect for an autumn wedding. Lace finishing with a hint of vintage, keeping it elegant and eclectic.

This stunning dress must be paired with stunning shoes, and I believe white and silver duo, WILLOW and TOULOUSE would be the perfect match. Mixes of brocade and lace trim with a pretty blue sole makes WILLOW the ultimate wedding Shoo for the bride that likes to push the boundaries. Part of our Indulgence Collection, these beauties will see your through your special day in comfort and style.

Bridesmaids –
You are the first to be seen walking down the aisle, and probably the last ones to leave the party! I think a bridesmaid’s look is almost as important as the bride's, you’ve got to compliment each other. My top pick bridesmaids dress is from British owned Pretty Kitty Fashion, who is also a stockist of Ruby Shoo! I love this ‘Salmon pink vintage lace embroidered belted bridesmaid dress’ the cut is so simple yet elegant, and the lace matches the brides dress above. The toned-down salmon doesn’t take the attention off of the bride but will still make the bridesmaids stand out.

Of course I had to choose rose gold WILLOW and TOULOUSE to match this pretty dress! The tones in this whole outfit scream wedding day to me. Having the same Shoos as the bride also adds a more personal feel and the comfort element is a bonus. You will need all the comfort you can get for the dancefloor.

Mother of the bride/groom -
This is a big day for you too, you are finally getting the chance to see your son or daughter tie the knot and it’s a day for you to get glam! When I saw this dress, I knew instantly which pair of Shoos would match. My top pick for the dress of the Mother of the bride/groom is from Catherine’s of Patrick, based in Glasgow and established over 75 years ago. This ‘dipped hem dress with brocade design’ oozes Ruby Shoo styling. Rich and glamorous colours mixed with special finishing touches such as the sleeves and hem.

Now if TATUM and TBLISI in gold are not perfect for this dress then I don’t know what is! They are a match made in heaven. Tatum has a pretty removeable bow if you want to tone down or dress them up. A mid heel with great stability and new comfort elements so you can look and feel fabulous the whole day through till night. This is actually one of my favourite looks out of the wedding party because I feel like they were meant for each other!

Wedding guest -
You can’t upstage the bridal party, but you can certainly look as glam as can be! My top pick wedding guest dress is this ‘closet London beige long sleeve pleated dress’ from SilkFred. I’m loving the flattering high neck and pleats, and the satin finish gives you a luxury look, perfect for the ceremony and reception. A single-coloured dress allows the opportunity to jazz up your outfit with an eye-catching pair of shoes, and bag of course!

Which brings me onto MILEY and CALGARY in black/gold, they most certainly have the wow factor! The print and mixes of black, gold and ivory compliment the pleated dress perfectly and if you ask me, this is a wedding guest must have! Miley too is part of our Indulgence Collection meaning you will be able to dance the night away, pain-free!
